In a perfect world, the idea of floating weigh stations might work. But, try to find enough volunteers to do it! And just wait until you have a .01 oz difference in the leader board and it's a $1000 difference. Try to prove your scales all work the same. I think consistency might be hard to prove wi...

Ottawa River near Stonecliffe

I went camping at desert lake last year. Everyone told me there are no bass in that lake. It's a deep, cold lake with very few weeds in the sparse areas that are less than 20 feet deep. It's mostly a sand bottom that holds pike in one end and lake trout down deep. I went up this little creek of crys...

I have seen tournaments where there are interval prizes in addition to the daily prizes. For example, come in and weigh your fish by 10 am, if you have the big fish before 10, there's a prize for that and the weights count towards your daily total. I have always thought this was a better way than st...

Almost has scales like a carp, although I know it isn't one. Fallfish or shiner, I would have been scratching my head too!

I keep a 5 piece rod in my work van and throw some tackle in there every morning. If I am near water, I am probably fishing at lunch. Honestly, I have NEVER caught ANYTHING other than poison ivy at petrie. I have luck everywhere I go but there.

Yam I'd have to recommend Reel2Reel. I took a Mitchell SPidercast one peiece there with a broken eye. It came back to me for less than 10 bucks and you couldn't tell which one they worked on!

that's better

I thought this was a post about Lake Dore and thouight someone maybe caught a fish bigger than a pound. I camped on that lake every summer as a kid until I was 23 and the fishing was always crap. Althgouh, I understand now that it's stocked walleye and slotted. Either way, nice fish!!
