Re: Is Castor river all run off?
I stopped in at J & L Gun Repair on the way into Embrun to grab a few last minute things and the gentleman there said pretty much the thing. Thanks!

Today...
Yesterday, the wife and I drove to Paddletales and had my new baitcast reel spooled up. I bought a few lures, in hopes of enticing a few pike tomorrow. I ended up going today due to the honey-do list being complete. The wife came. It happens. We fished the Castor. As I was washing various lures, new...

Is Castor river all run off?
My mother in-law owns a house across the street from M&M meat shop in Embrun. I am headed there in the next hour to try for pike. If I catch one of decent size, I wouldn't mind eating it. Mommy dearest is grossed out by the thought of it. She says it's made up of a lot of run off from surroundin...

Re: How to fish in a "new" body of water
For me, as a shorebound angler, it's foot work. A lot of it! If it's bass and/or pike I'm after there is hours and hours of walking shorelines. I don't go troutin' nearly as often, because when I do, it's hours and hours of driving on roads that no ford escort belongs on. That being said, even if I ...

Re: Spooling a baitcaster...
Thanks guys! And Ed, for sure! I am a big fan of buying local and supporting guys like yourself! I bought it on a whim, online while in a remote camp in northern Alberta. See ya sometime this week.

Spooling a baitcaster...
So, I took the plunge and bought my first baitcasting setup. Just wondering where I can get some line put on? I've tried googling it without much luck. Thanks guys!

Using the search feature here
This may not be the right section for this, but here goes.... Every time I use the search feature the results I get are 4 and 5 years old. I tried searching for "castor" (aswell as a few others), which I used just the other day in a post. The most recent result I got was from 2009. It all ...

Re: Never used pop up and little buddy heater... Not for sal
It looks as though you are right, Seaweed. Although I don't know where these dams and roads are they speak of, it's a lot easier to err on the side of caution. Thanks a lot for pointing that out.

Sweet action, thanks! I think tomorrow is the day. Sun up to sun down. I'll be sure to report. Just gotta review the honey do list.

Never used pop up and little buddy heater... Not for sale
Just returned from a 7 week stint at work. I need to put my new hut and heater to use, as I return to work on Sunday for another month. Can anybody tell me if it's still safe to be on the ice right where the Nation and Castor meet? I just moved to Limoges around Xmas and am assuming there would be a...

Re: Minnows in Embrun?
Yup, just drove by and he's got a sign out that says minnows. Only one problem, I was on my way to shoppers to get flu meds. I have a 2 man pop up and a little buddy heater, so I'm good in that respect. I just can't muster up the energy do a few holes. Hopefully these drugs help!
