Thanks Fisherguy, it's been fine but I'll keep that in mind.

I use standard nuts rather than wingnuts and tighten with a wrench, I also keep the terminals clean. As I mentioned power is reaching the motor, it steers but does not turn the prop. I'll have to pull it off the boat and take it to the service center, was just hoping to avoid that. I've also heard t...

It's under warranty but the service center is a couple hours away and it's fishing time. It will still be under warranty come snow season so I may limp along until then. Btry connections are fine, the power is there just that the motor won't respond. Not insulting at all, I've been known to have tho...

Trolling motor problem
I have a strange recurring problem with a Minn Kota Powerdrive with a handheld remote. On three occasions when I hit the "on" switch the motor won't respond. I hear a "click" at the motor when depressing the switch but no power to the prop. I can turn the motor left and right wit...

Thanks and yes both of your answers are pretty much what I expected. More is always better, at least with TM power, I suppose I was looking for excuses to save the $$ between a 55 and 70+, not to mention the cost of an additional battery. I fish a lot of small, protected lakes but occasionally get o...

Another trolling motor query
I'm considering a 55 lb bow mount trolling motor for a Duranautic open 16' mod V. Total weight will be about 1200 lbs. Do you guys think 55 lbs is adequate?
Thanks
Mike
Thanks

Trolling Motors
First off, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! Question, does anyone have experience with the Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 or the Motorguide Wireless series bow mount and if so, what's your opinion. I'm looking for a bow mount which I can control from the stern. The V2 I see has a foot control on ...
