Raisin River Tiger Musky
Was fishing with my dad and girlfriend in the Raisin River at Lancaster this past Sunday. Dad hooked into this strange looking "pike" while we were trolling. Was about 36 inches. Turns out, after a little internet research, that it's probably a tiger musky. I'd never seen one before so I t...

Soo Fishing
Headed up to the Soo to visit my girlfriend's family a few weeks ago. While we were there we spent 4 nights at Agawa Beach campground in Lake Superior Provincial Park, and I got a chance to fish a couple of days on Lake Mijinemungshing (Mij) out of the canoe (she did most of the paddling so I could ...

Shore fishing in the Greater Ottawa area
Good morning all! I've been here on Fish Hawk before but it's been a while. I live in the Ottawa-area but am without a boat. Most summers I fish with my Dad who usually puts his boat in at Lancaster, and we also try to head to Reserve Faunique Ashuapmushuan (a Quebec SEPAQ wildlife reserve NW of Lac...

Huge Bucketmouth
Thought some of you Hawkers might enjoy this (I'm not really a bass guy myself). These are pics of my buddy's dad with a trophy largemouth from Frontenac Park earlier this year. This big boy weighed in at 7.25 lbs and was 22.25 inches long. [img]<a%20href="http://s793.photobucket.com/albums/yy2...

Manotick Walleye
My friend and I got out Tuesday night to look for the elusive Rideau River Walleye in and around Manotick. By about 8:15pm all we had caught was about a dozen small rock bass, and picked up and moved locations. After a quick boat ride we were rewarded with a beautiful walleye, no scale, but looked t...

Walleye Fishing in the Outaouais or Laurentides
A buddy and I are looking to do a few days of camping/fishing for walleye north of Ottawa. Can anybody recommend an outfitter where the walleye fishing is good?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Proper Fish Handling
I wondered if somebody could share some tips on how to properly handle landed fish; specifically walleye and pike. I'd like to learn how to do it in a way that puts the fish (and my fingers) at as little risk as possible.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Manotick Walleye: How?
I've got a small boat docked near the Bait Shop in Manotick. I'm wondering if anybody can suggest an effective technique for catching walleye in the Rideau around there. I'd also like to fish for some crappie. Thanks in advance.

New to the Rideau!
Just started fishing the Rideau in the past few weeks and having a lot of fun. My buddy and I bought an old 1950's Johnson 10HP to take on a trip to Reserve Faunique Ashuapmushuan (which is incredible by the way) about 7 hrs north of Montreal last summer, and a friend has just offered us the use of ...
