Re: American Eel!!
Yuck for sure.
They seem to tie themselves in a knot then slide the knot up their body and over your hand in an attempt to get away. Slick move, but gross.
I expect that with efforts to re-establish them, you'll see more in the near future. There are tons on the Atlantic coast.

Re: Constance Bay
A boat launch at Constance Bay is a misnomer. The laneways only supply public access to the beach and boat launching is not encouraged. Near Constance Creek, the one on Baillie at Sandbay St. is one of the better ones. With the high water now, you might be OK to back a trailer in. However, I get stu...

Sprains can be just as bad as a break. Take it easy until you can tightrope walk those rocky parts.
Great story and beauty pics. Hope you get more before fly season.

Great outing and a great report. Sounds like you spent time with a bunch of diehard bass fishermen.

Great job of getting out on opening day Kevin. Good catch. I'm particularly impressed by those whitefish. Beauties!

Re: Firearm Discharge Maps - Ottawa
Thanks scarkner. It did work this time. I'll have to pay close attention. I think this is an appropriate thread to include another piece of info, since "fakery" was mentioned re the bullet hole comment. Some of you may know that the Marlborough Forest, which is the huge swath of public lan...

That sounds all very nice, but.
When I go there and try it. it says no regions found.
Is it because I use a Mac?

Re: Canoes, Motors and Fishing enjoyment.
Sounds like a winning combination. Whatever works for your needs is the best choice.
My only issue with the Sportspal is you have to basically sit on the bottom on foam seats. If that's OK, Great. An awful lot of fish have been caught from those boats over the years. Enjoy.

Re: Outdoor Adventure Travel show - going?
My understanding is, that next year the hunting, fishing and riding component of this show will be much better. Since the Carp show has gone, this show will be the next contender. Just say'n, that's the buzz.

Re: Down the hole!
I was fine until yesterday. Took my sun glasses off and set them on my hat as usual.
However, when I leaned over, down the hole they went. They were good ones too. Bummer.

Re: Algonquin fishing
Good trout fishing and easy access are kinda oxymoronic. There are some easy to walk to lakes in The Park with good trout, but few have campsites on them. Drive to lakes? Opeongo maybe, but you need a boat. Peck Lake does come to mind. Car camping there as I recall. Here's the link to the Algonquin ...
