we have tried everything (jigs, crankbait, single hook, bottom bouncer....) in every dept of water.... Even with talking with other guys there, it seem that no fish or almost were caught over the week-end.

Big Gull Lake week-end

We went to Kirk Cove Cottages last week-end at Big Gull Lake. We were very disapointed in the fishing and I thing we were expecting more of the cottages. The fishing was so bad, we were three boats, six guys and we fish for three days (10 to 12 hours per day) and we only caught one walleye and one p...

I have tried it a couple weeks ago on my friend's boat and it was great. Amazing how it works. My friend tried it last week on the St-Lawrence and it was windy and he said that it was a bit more difficult to control it. I need to pick up mine this week and I am looking forward to use it, specially f...

Reel - drag

I have a quick question which I am sure many of you have the answer.

I bought a new Curado and put Fireline (braided) on it. Last week-end I found out that my drag was practically not working. Should I have put a mono to start on the reel? Or what else can it be?

Thank you
Matt

I also have a Bass Pro Extreme 370 bags and I got it at Paddletales in Winchester. It came with 4 nice big compartment. If you ask Ed, he should be able to get some and it was not more expensive then buying it at Bass Pro.

Crotch Lake is very nice, just came back from a 5 days fishing trip there. We caught alot of bass even if we were trying for walleye. But we were 3 boats, 6 guys and we only caught 11 walleye during our 5 days stay.

I just came back from Crotch Lake, it's a huge lake. I seen some small rivers coming in but couldn't go since it was shallow and the motor could have been damage. If it's winding and can probably be hard to kayak but I don't know anything about kayak... Very nice lake but walleye fishing is very dif...

For sure Shimano is probably the best reel and rods. I find that they are reliable and affordable. My runners up are Fenwick & St-Croix rods and Quantum Accurist reel.
