I agree Marble Eyes.....Listening to Italo is like listening to Mr Rogers giving a fishing seminar. After reading an article about him that talked about him losing his first wife and the hardships he's had to endure, I honestly tried to give his show a chance...but I just can't do it.

If you watch some of the PWT tournys on TV you'll see a few of the pros using some sort of hand-lining technique. Not sure if the set-up is the same but they use it for better detection of the "light" bite.

Got to jump in on this one. I spend a lot of time on the Rideau south of Merrickville during the summer and have become quite used to dealing with inconsiderate folks operating large vessels at high speeds in narrow channels. I soon came to realize that no matter how much I rant and rave about nearl...

Much like BA, I need to make a good effort this year to learn pitching and flipping. I only hope it goes better than when I tried to learn to use a baitcaster after 35 years of using spinning gear. Got so frustrated I actually threw my baitcasting rod/reel in the lake (twice) :x  . I'm very pa...

A wicker creel sounds like the ticket for you, providing you're not keeping large fish. I carried one for years when wading streams for brookies. Put a little moss in the creel and alternate between moss and fish. It'll keep them fresh all day and is easy to carry with the shoulder strap.

That thing looks like it should have horns and live in a pasture. What a cow! Definately in the 30lb range.

I bought the Frogg Toggs Pro Angler Suit last year from Caballas and have been quite impressed with it. The suit (jacket and bibs) were quite inexpensive and very comfortable to wear all day. They breath well and keep the rain out. The downside is that they are so light weight, that they might tear ...

Boy does that bring back fond memories. A lot of good times getting the kids out for a few hrs on the water. They're all grown up now and living far away from mom and dad, but the first grand-child is coming next month. I'll get to relive the old memories with a new generation. Can hardly wait. Than...

Sober stats for sure. I just found out last week that my old fishing buddy from Nova Scotia drowned in a canoeing accident while trout fishing. This guy had nearly 40 years of experience in a canoe and I considered him an expert. It can happen to anyone...at anytime. I have a good friend here in Ott...

I have a Magellan Triton 400 which I've used for a couple of years in the boat. It's pretty close to the 500 for features. I have mixed feelings about it. It's easy to configure different maps which you can download on-line and the unit should come with PC software for manipulating the maps. The dow...

Run my stereo and fish-finder off the cranking battery and haven't had any problems so far. I've found you don't have to run the main motor too long to keep the battery charged up. Mind you, I use a deep cycle for my cranking battery but I don't really think it would make much of a difference either...

Wait until you catch an episode of the British Carp fishing championships on WFN. It's like watching paint dry or grass grow WHILE getting a root canal at the same time. Guaranteed to stop all complaining about Mariko.
