Re: Bass Fishing Hooks Size - Shaky Head - Wacky – Shad
Hey Craig, I don't use a shaky head at all. Guess it's something I should try. For wacky, I use a 1/0. It's the Gamakatsu G finesse weighted wacky hook. I use both 1/16 and 1/8oz sizes. This bad boy right here? http://www.gamakatsu.com/phpThumb/phpThumb.php?src=../images/products/large/jig_head_wac...

Bass Fishing Hooks Size - Shaky Head - Wacky – Shad
Making my winter shopping list for all the fixings I need for bass fishing summer 2017 and I am getting into the hooks. I recently got into "Shaky Head" and I love it. Freaking effective presentation. My question is to those who fish it: Size and weight? Considering the following: - Lake f...

Re: Bass fishing advice in Lac Sainte Marie
I love that whole water way. From Paugan in the south to Lac LaVase in the north. Frogging work well in the back ends and I know that many have great success with drop shotting in the river. There are islands in the middle of LacStMarie that usually have bigg'uns. BE CAREFUL in the river portions of...

Trailer Supply - Gold Mine!
I have chewed through some trailer wheel bearings, tires, hitches and other things over the years with my little boat trailer. Not blaming the parts. I blame the idiot pulling the trailer at warp speed through deer trails with his Chevy W-Body passenger car. I used to go to Princess Auto on ...

PM me know if you find a launch!!
I would rent it just to try the lake. If that lake isn't any good, you have access to a bunch of lakes within about 30 minutes of that cottage.

Re: Too stinking hot for me and the fish!!!
I hear some people like curling.
It's NEVER too cold and it's NEVER too hot. Buy a cooler, get out on the water.
AND for Christ's' sake, put your boat in a body of water where you can just jump in when it get unbearably hot!

To further Lape0019's advice, there is also Pettawawa Bassmasters. Between the two series, you should be able to fish every weekend in some interesting water!

Smell My Bass - Bass Bites
Hi All! Been a long time since I have authored a report. To tell the truth; Fishing has been less than spectacular all year for me. It is taking its toll on me, but I think it is making Paul's brain into mush. I am getting numbers most days, but no real beasts and dealing with a mentally unstable f...

Last time I was there, the only beavers building a dam must have been at least 16 years old, as it was a Pontiac blocking the mouth of the channel!!

Re: Sticky Skirts - How To Stop It?
Craig, The babypowder trick is something Bass Elite Pros use quite often. I actually watched a video of it on FB not two days ago. They keep a bottle of baby powder in the boat with them and sprinkle more in every time they put a frog back. Now, if your skirts are melting together, this could have ...

I thought about that too, but I am afraid of scent. Maybe pure unscented talc?BradGuenette wrote:Baby powder! It soaks up any water and allows the rubber to stay flexible and separated for a long time! Be liberal with it, my jig box is loaded with baby powder.

THAT is what I am talking about. Same thing with my jig skirts.Yannick Loranger wrote:... My frog bag on the other had to be scrapped when I found all the legs on the frogs melted.

Sticky Skirts - How To Stop It?
At risk of a bunch of Bill Clinton jokes, my skirts are often getting sticky and stuck together. Almost looks as though they are melted together.
I think I keep them clean and dry, but it still happens.
Any ideas?
