My PB; Pike or Musky?!

This is an Ottawa River grass pike that my friend had to pull out of the water because HE forgot the net. I told him that he would be my net for the day. He said (Talking trash as we often do) that I wouldn't be catching anything anyway... so he agreed! I have no idea exactly how big it was. We were...

I was on the bay yesterday... the pike were hitting black buzz baits non stop. The Bass were into Carolina rigged black lizards with yellow tails. I was catching them early morning... biggest was 4.1lbs smallest 2.4lbs. Black is the color for me there this time of year. Dark green frogs were killer ...

I was up at the headwaters last year... I wanted to stop every 5 minutes to fish as the structure was AWESOME! Lake Temiskaming is the bomb! Haileybury and New Liskeard are on the Ontario side of the lake and Ville Marie on the Quebec side. Well worth the 450KM drive. I spent time fishing out side o...

Re: Ottawa River Morning Sept. 23

Launched at Dick Bell Park at 7:30 AM. Water was like glass, no breeze at all. Wanted to try a couple of spots that I had previously marked. Tried an orange spinner with Gulp minnows on a bottom bouncer in 18 to 24 feet of water. Got it right the first time. Walleye were on the bite, they wore the ...

This sounds dangerous........ I can't believe people can hunt along the Ottawa river...... I guess it's not a populated area? I've never been there....but in Ontario you can't shoot near homes.....or fisherman.... Isn't there a swamp somewhere else they can hunt? instead of along the a river which ...

Very well said orrsey. I suppose I should also take it upon my self to educate and inform my self about safe fishing practices around hunters. It might even be smart to mention some safety tips in that boating exam about boating around hunters. Again, I don't want it to appear that I am intolerant t...

If you guys are so worried about hunters why not make other plans to fish elsewhere....Lots of water. The hunters have been waiting long enough. Its not hunters that worry me, it's people that shoot guns at ducks where there are always people around that worry me. If I am a hunter, I do not go to p...

Live in Quebec. Not sure what the a fisherman can do here... you plan all week to go fishing in a certain spot where it is basically a playground for fishermen... and all of a sudden people are shooting guns off around you without any warning at all? Kind of odd if you ask me. A few signs around the...
