Crow Lake (next to Bob's Lake) - decent bass fishing?

Might be staying on Crow Lake at the end of July and am wondering if it has decent bass fishing?

Also, is there access from Crow to Bob's that's navigable by boat?

Thanks!

Would you use a spinning rod with baitcaster?

Would you use a spinning rod with a baitcaster reel? Is there a difference between the rods other than the "trigger" for your index finger? And if this is the only difference does it have a significant impact on your casting? I have a 7' spinning rod to put the baitcaster on and am wonderi...

Lake Champlain (Alburg / North Hero area) lodging

A buddy and I are heading to Champlain for a few days ~May 23rd.
Looking for recommendations on locations to stay.

Would prefer that they have a boat launch or are close to one. Optionally, if they rent boats for affordable prices then that is another way we might go.

Any recommendations?

Good stuff! Thanks for the tips everyone.
I'm sure we'll have some success. Be it walleye or bass or pike or muskie :)
No GPS, though. So hopefully we stay fog free.

We won't be fly-fishing this trip. I'll have my boat up there and we'll be renting another from Eagle's Rest. So we'll pretty much be sticking to bass with some walleye attempts in the evenings and maybe mornings. That being said, I spent a couple of summers in Calgary fly-fishing. That was 4 years ...

Thanks for the walleye tips, Sheldon. We'll definitely be looking to try get a few decent 'eyes while we're there. Amongst the bass, that is :)

Lostchild - will be sure to respect the slot limits. Thanks for the size info!

Cheers,

Lots of great Pike/Pickeral fishing on that lake. Eagles Rest? Where's that near...is that up by Griffith-Matawatchen area? The dam is down closer to Black Donald area...Calabogie area....I doubt you'll fish the whole lake.....It's hugh, the Madawaska River runs right through it, and into Black Don...

Tubalization wrote:Never fished there myself but have heard good things about it. The Eagles Rest site states the fishing is 'excellent'. I found it quite interesting that there was an old mining town that was flooded.

Any tips for Centennial Lake?

Hi all, There's a group of 4 of us heading to Centennial Lake for a few days next weekend. We've never fished the lake before. We'll be staying at The Eagle's Rest. Does anybody have any tips for decent areas to fish given that we'll be launching from Eagle's Rest each day? If you want to PM me to a...
