Me, my girlfriend and James were there on Saturday. I did not catch anything, had a monster largemouth clear the water for my spook. James did not catch anything, but my girlfriend landed a nice little Pike i would say at least 3-4lbs on a shad rap. Other than that, we caught nothing! the girl skunk...

Do bullheads and channels have poison? I though that some southern species of cats might have some sort of poison, or at least bacteria on the barbs. But i thought that our humble bullheads were pretty tame, just really sharp barbs that can make for a miserable outing.

Yes, landowners who's land is not being used should not get any proceeds from the tourney. But landowners who's land is used, say for storing vehicles, if the public parking lot is full for example. I know it is hard to govern these small tournaments, but for the benefit of the local fishery, i real...

It makes sence to collect loyalties from derbies, and I think that unregulated derbies/tournaments are a bad thing for the fishery. Not everyone knows how to properly keep fish, increasing mortality. Nor will some clean up after themselves. Plus as we know, some people disrespect landowners. Rules m...

Berkley Ripple Shad

Live bait!! Berkley with its gulp alive series, and now the Ripple shad, are really looking like a good alternative to live bait. I picked up 2 packs, 3" black and white ones, and 5" perch pattern. Has anyone tried the new Ripple Shad swimbaits yet? This things are sick! They seriously loo...

You purchased the liscence, which means you do not need to get a new one. Call the MNR and give them your information, they can provide you with your number more than likely.

I caught a Mooneye about 10 years ago in the Madawaska headpond, and took it home to try. At the time, I had no clue what it was, but originally thought it was a whitefish until I got home. I found it really bony and greasy, and I don't remember eating very much of it. I have heard that Mooneye are...

Changes to Dalhousie Lake fish sanctuary?

I was looking at the MNR regs, and the fish sanctuary at the head of the lake, is open the second saturday in may (today). Before it was open the second saturday in June. I wonder is this a typo? the pressure on walleye is great enough as it is, now the walleye sanctuary at the head of the lake is f...

Morrisburg fishing?

My girlfriend went with her friend to Morrisburg a few weeks ago, they walked along the docks on the St.Lawrence. Now she wants to take me fishing there next weekend. Just a question, is there good fishing in Morrisburg? I just did a google map search, and there seems to be a river mouth on the east...
