No words....except that it does look a lot like the old quebec reds I used to catch in La Belle Province. How did you determine (for sure) it is a splake? Being a hybrid I know they can fall visually anywhere between a Laker or a Speckle but I can't get over how strikingly similar it looks to a true...

I'm not familiar with fishing in Ontario, rather in PQ. There you can't use a 'game fish' as bait ie. can't use Perch. Not sure what the regs are there but I'd check them before doing it.

I got the summer transducer when I bought my X67c this winter at LeBaron. I think Joey's right on their price. It's a great unit for year-round use.

"Hey there 'shine , very nice of you to offer ! My buddy picked a great time to take off on vacation with the truck (sitting at the airport in TO all week !) Would be nice to do a day trip next year and check it out , looks to be nice chunk of water for camping and boating though . I still find...

The mid to southeast corner of the ZEC is where the walleyes are. All other areas are moreso dominated by lakers/specs. For driving the southeast corner generally has the best roads/boat launches/camp sites as well- Hibou gate. If there's any particular species you're looking for you can PM me for f...

Wow...congratulations. Did you weigh any ? I'd guess the 2 larger ones are pushin' 5.5lbs. One's a little longer but the other looks a little deeper.

Interesting depth strategy....how long did it take to figure out they're in 18-24 inches?

Again, congrats.

Thanks for all the opinions...it's certainly got me swayed away from Legend to the Lund/Princecraft....especially from the former Legend owner.

Thanks again !

Thanks McQ. The 14 ft resorter is a great boat however they only offer a 20" transom and my motor is a 15" shaft. Yukon 15 offer a 15' or 20" transom so that's why I'm considering it. This is pretty weird since their sister version 16 ft "Starfish" does offer a 15" tran...

14 ft

I bought a new 15 HP Yamaha last year so I'd like to keep it. I also need something portable that I can easily remove and put on other boats...not just the boat I'm looking to buy now. Sounds like most feel the PC or Lund would be better choices. I did like the Legend for the options with a 15 inch ...

If you were buying a new 14ft Aluminum...what would it be?

Looking for some opinions on purchasing a (preferably) new aluminum boat and trailer to go with my new 15 HP Yammy. I keep flipping back and forth between a Lund 14WC/Princecraft 15 Yukon/Legend 14 Prosport. These 3 in particular offer a 15 inch transon but each one has something I don't like. Right...

I hear you. The Ottawa river is a write off as far as I'm concerned. Tragic really. Go north.

Yes..interesting...however, treating the fish like our own little 'patient' might be good advice too. I've regularly seen anglers on an unconcerned 'rip and tear mission' to get their lures free. More respect for the fish might be the best determinant of post-capture suvival - regardless of size.
