Jack Lake about 30 minutes north of Peterborough in Apsley has good crappie fishing through the ice. There are walleye too but they are kind of a rarity. Percy Reach has good ice fishing as well, I'm told. It's probably 45 minutes away. Right now it looks like you'll be driving to Alaska if you want...

But seriously I am very thankful just to be alive. One time I could touch bottom, but the other time I went right under and just happened to be lucky/quick/calm enough to pull myself right back out.

what's the price on those suckers BBR. That sounds like its right up my alley. I would love a Vex but there's no way the wife if gonna go for it with #2 on the way. It cost me about 150 ... about 8 years ago. I think they are cheaper now. And it runs on 2 lantern batteries. 2 batteries usually last...
