for this time of year when the ice is just off the water temp inverts.
i fish the first 10 feet of so troling with a small flasher, mooselook, or small spoon and the my bait 3 to 5 feet behind that, for bait wet fly or minnow

i have fish on the Q side for B trout for many years, i have used both baits worms and leeches and found little difference, well except for price
but give tham a try, you never know

To finish my post, (I had issue with the internet)
One would think a cormorant that weights 4 lbs would be a snack for a large Pike or Muskie, as in the case of the eagle, would it be possible to catch one fishing? I have never caught a flying fish :lol:

What I use is a single spinner, split shot with a worm, troll slowly and bounce the bottom around 13 feet or so

it does depend on the lake, the time of year, type and age of the fish
i have also seen green algae, and small bits of gravel (white quarts)
it seems when they feed anything is fair game

skunked in the winter on rainbow lakes? in 20 or so years i can count the trout on 2 hands i caught in the winter... maybe that's just me :? BucketM is correct Grab a stocking list, some maps, Google Earth, a $50 for gas and get'er done. anyway exploring the country side is half of the fun Steve

no they are not from Oriole, Oriole bows are not that big in the belly, well that's what i have found :)
