Re: Line breaks 2018 - where was I going wrong

Well holy. I've been tying ALL my fluro line with palomar knots for about 5 years and have never broke off at the knot. Weird.

I use mainline fluro for all dropshotting and use a palomar and it never breaks even when using 8 lb.

Not sure what to do now..

Re: Non-Canal Rideau River Charts

I highly doubt you'll find maps for that stretch as it's pretty much deemed un-navigable by boat.

It was dealt with. The day I figure out why these people even bother to spam is the day I've solved all the worlds issues.

Re: The Value of Large Walleye

Interesting fishing last night on Mississippi Lake. I had a group out for Bass throwing Senkos, cranks and Ned rigs. We caught more Walleye than Largemouth! A few in the slot and a few under the slot. It was great to see! We did absolutely whack on the Smallies though, man has that lake changed over...

Releasing a beast...

Hey folks, Gar season has been nothing short of awesome. Multiple 50 inch plus fish days eclipsing our previous season record of 18 North of 50, it's been good! Tangled with a giant the other day while giving Chevy some training as I hired him to work with our guide service in the spring. Lots of ha...

Re: The Value of Large Walleye

I think it really depends on where the research is done. Research from Lake Erie where the fish grow fast and have abundant food source isn't really applicable to our local waters, to a point. I bet those big girls are still very viable spawners out in the big water. Locally I do think the larger fi...

Re: Little Rideau Walleye

That's the concern. They think they are spawning but the fry have to pass a huge gauntlet of panfish to get to deep water to start their lives. Apparently none are making it.

Re: Little Rideau Walleye

Likely not posted online, I was privy to the results at the FMZ18 management meeting. This was done last Fall I believe. Without a doubt all that was there was stockers.

Re: Little Rideau Walleye

There are Walleye in the Little Rideau, 100% yes. Thru the stocking they have done over the years, no evidence of reproduction so you'd be bumping into "over" the limit sized fish. Recent netting surveys proved this that they trapped only 2 year classes of fish that happen to be those that...

Lunkers and Bunkers Event!

Short notice on this one but this is a great local event! I know some FH'ers have gone in the past and had a great time! I may have a couple spots available if you fire me a PM they may be yours! http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x125/RJNBirdee/Mobile%20Uploads/Lunkers%20and%20Bunkers%20post...
