I would sign up for that job in a second, unfortunately my wife is not interested.

Excellent fish !!
I wonder why I have not spent more time on the St Lawrence as it is only an hour away.

That is reason enough to go ice fishing and keep you going back for a long time.
Excellent catch!

Re: Summer cottage
When fishing with the gas motor hopefully you can get it going slow enough. My buddies proved to me that letting out lots of line is the trick so the fish are not spooked, and I mean lots of line, almost down to the reel. Your lures actually do not keep going deeper and deeper the more line you let ...

Re: Summer cottage
We fished it 2 years ago. It is supposed to be a good walleye lake but we did not have much success with them fishing from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The smallmouth are where you would think they should be. Drifting with the wind pushing you past rocky points and reefs should keep you busy with lots of fis...

Hi,
It was reported in the Millstone News,
The excavator is needed to take some rocks out of the Appleton generating station tail races as the rocks are preventing the gates from closing properly.

Re: How many lures do you lose? Honestly...
If you are losing crankbaits or stickbaits on the bottom, you need to buy a lure retriever or make one. I went on a fishing trip to L'Verendrye Parc and on the first day lost 5 rapalas. I was thinking that I could not afford to fish, until I went back to the campsite and someone showed me a lure ret...

Re: Putting the boat away
Hi, Some funny/good answers but with a stern drive if you winterize it yourself you will want to do it when the weather is still warm enough to comfortably do it. If you have a boat dealer winterize it, check with them for when they can take it and set an appointment now, plus you need to get it to ...

Re: Putting the boat away
Just let the weather determine it.
When the ramps are so frozen you cannot get your boat in the water, put it away for the winter.

How do you retire a favorite old reel
I was out fishing with a buddy the other day and one of my favorite reels started messing up and sounding like the gears are going. I mentioned that I hate to throw this reel out because I have caught so many fish with it. My buddy says he keeps all his old reels on a shelf and just admires them fro...

Re: Whats in your kayak crate?
I find that Kayak fishing is very similar to ice fishing as far as gear is concerned. You take a bunch of gear but you do not want to change lures too often because it is not easy and takes up valuable fishing time. So make sure your rods are rigged before you leave the house. I have a milk crate be...
