Fishing Rideau River help
Hello all, I have recently started kayak fishing on the Rideau River from the Strandherd bridge to the end of Long Island. Problem is that I have not been able to locate any largemouth or any other fish of any size. I've caught a few smallmouth but they are tiny. Friend of mine got into a smallish m...

improving fish habitat and spawning beds. We have some plans this fall for some offshore habitat improvements on Mississippi Lake JimW, that is fantastic. Is this the cottage association getting together or is it an initiative of a tournament? Either way, it's good news. Please don't get me wrong. ...

Hi Angling, thanks for your response. I’m perplexed though, the bass tourneys make a large effort in releasing fish (in some cases via live release boats for conservation) but it’s too far a stretch to have the tourney guys release their own fish after weigh in (if it became a tournament rule)? ...

Beachburger...I'm pleasedabout your response. I think it's great that you do run them several miles away. I would love it if these fish would be dropped off exactly where they were caught, but hey, I'd love world peace too. To be honest, my question to the live releaser at Renegade last year was &qu...

A statement was made that these bodies of water can easily handle the tournaments, but can it? Tourney anglers are very experienced and I’m assuming are taking whatever larger bass out of parts of the lake and “displacing†them in another part of the lake. I speak in particular about the Big R...

Wolfe/TT, It was very nice to meet you in Westport and thanks for the kind words. At some point you must have realized that I could have probably talked your ear off all the way to dinner time… Thanks for the great tips. I ended catching 6 pike on Monday morning which is more than I’ve ev...

Prop Repair?
Hi there, I was out fishing last summer and happened to go over a shoal. My 3 blade, 25 pitch off of an Alpha one mercruiser was damaged, but it still looks fixable. I've since replaced the prop, but i'm wondering if anybody knows a good place to get it repaired...and reasonably priced. Thank...

I broke a Compre rod about 6 inches from the top. I sent it back to Shimano (I didn't go back to LB's because it had been over a year), but they were very quick to replace the rod and send it back to me. Excellent service from an excellent company. If you want the shipping address (and the box) PM m...

I think that internet fishing sites are great for learning about fishing. I've gone to plenty, and have learned quite a bit from them, especially in the last 3 or so years when I got more serious about fishing. More specifically, I think this site is very good. In fact, it's the only site i go to on...

Eagle portable transducer and power
Hi, I ran into a problem a week ago with the power to my fish finder. I have a portable Eagle Fish Easy Fish finder mounted on my bowmount trolling motor for use at the bow. As this is a portable, it comes with a 'AA' battery compartment that attaches to the transducer cable via a socket. I tore the...

I used Canada Post 1-3 day shipping...it cost about $20 (including insurance). The 3 - 5 day was about $18. It was a 2 piece I sent back, but asked for a 1 piece in return because the top piece kept coming off. I wasn't expecting a 1 piece, but lo and behold. My conversation with Bud was all of abou...
