Re: Less than 3 weeks until somebody wins a ranger!

The Canadian open is on in Kingston, and in no offence to them because we are not targetting the "pros", would be nice to see some local boys with this show!

Re: Less than 3 weeks until somebody wins a ranger!

Still blows my mind we have only 40 boats right now! Ottawa river! Lachabaer is open! Mid season open to all classic! $400 fee, which is cheaper than most other top series regular season events in Canada, but yet we are giving away a $35,000 boat, $10,000 for 2nd with a full field, and tons more cas...

Re: Less than 3 weeks until somebody wins a ranger!

I'm not sure where that rumour started, and I've heard it lots! The boat is 100% gone to the winner! If it stays at 39 teams or goes to 150! The only thing that is not gaurenteed is the cash payback. If we did not own the boat, we sure would not be allowed to tow it around to events to show off! It ...

SHOOTOUT! Tough day, Nice Pay

With a tough bite today on big rideau, Greg Gervais and Steve Oconner figured out the pattern to make ounces the difference from just a day on the water to a $3000 cheque. With 17.88lb bag, Greg and Steve just nudged out Dan faubert and Scott paquin 17.72 sack which earned the second place team $200...

Re: Shootout Series fish management

Thanks ShawnD, Love the support! In only our second year we took this on, and put ourselfs in the line of fire by doing it! I will be the first one standing infront of my crew taking bullets! Only protecting resources best as possible is our goal. People hate tournemant anglers enough, and as a orga...

Re: Shootout Series fish management

The original post was made for both pride and advertising. I'd be an idiot to argue it's was'ent. Wait until you see the boat, it's lite up like a Xmas tree with sponsors. But the first part is pride! For over 20 years I have worked on and around live release boats, and with no offence to the tradit...

Re: Shootout Series fish management

I am 100% saying keeping fish in any type of boat be is bass boat or live release boat for any longer than nessassary is worse than being release right away. How is it not the best route for the fish? Being back in its own environment or stuck in a boat bumping up againts a few other hundred fish. I...

Re: Shootout Series fish management

I don't think anybody is blaming you kingmarc, all valid points. If this weather does not make a warm turn in a hurry, fish will still be on beds for big rideau, and a slim chance but possible for the Mississippi. Warmest report I have heard on any lake is 60 right now, and that just means they are ...

Re: Shootout Series fish management

It is a very cool system, and also was not mentioned that we are individually releasing the fish once they can go, instead of the traditional dump system. I just hope the boat never gets used, because the angler take care of their own fish and 99 times out of 100 do a great job of that.

Re: Shootout Series fish management

The Shootout series appreciates your concern as it is valid and something the organisers have concidered in depth. To help ease any concerns we can say that the mnr does set the season opener with all possible circumstances measured and calculated to ensure fish spawn success. Simply put, by followi...
