Last weekend when i was up at my cottage they were still froze over. I'm hoping to get out there to try my luck with the crappies. I heard it was realy good fishing once the ice goes out. I dont think the ice will be gone by this weekend.

I am aware that Lakers are out of season :x !!! I also know that the whitefish are still around, but according to my buddy they travel in schools and he says if you find these schools you are bound to cacht more than one. I know for a fact the whitefish are still around because last year I caught a ...

Ice fishing on the Lower Rideau

I headed up to my cottage on the lower on thursday night to get my shack out to StoneHouse. Towed it out with my 4-weeler and my buddy's studded snowmobile. We got it out there at about 11 PM. There was approx. 10 inches of ice out at StoneHouse. The next morning I did not fish because I had to fini...

Both lakers I caught were about 6-8 pounders. Very nice fish and hard to let them back into the lake. But what can you do? They gave up pretty good fights. I love using the Vexilar. After one year in my opinion it has already paid for itself. For example earlyer in the season I play with a whitefish...

On my first day I was fishing in about 75 feet of water and the second day I was fishing in about 60 feet. Most of the fish were coming up off of the bottom to come and check out my bait but the school of black crappies were suspended about 10 to 20 feet off of the bottom. Next weekend i'm going to ...

I have access to noad's point over someones private propriete but I would have to say that your best bet is either at beverages or at the boat lanch off of the yat club road. Be careful if you are going to drive a car on later in the year because first of all beverages is a dangerous access point be...

Ice fishing on the Lower Rideau

I headed up to fish Noads Point on Thursday the 25th. The next morning I headed out to my portable shack with my vexilar and rod. There was 6 inches of ice. I saw many fish come up and sniff my bait on my vexilar and missed a couple good hits. I fished from sunrise til about noon and only caught two...

Lebaron has always been this way for me. The service sucks and when it comes to hunting supplies there are never any in stock. I stopped going to Leabarons a few years ago and I would much rather go to a local Bait & Tackle shop than go to that store. I always though to myself if someone opened ...

How thick is the ice on Lower Rideau Lake?

I was wondering if anyone knew how thick the ice was on the Lower Rideau. I'm hoping that there will be enough by this weekend so that I can go out and try my luck at Noads Point.

Thanks
