Sorry bout the double post So last weekend was the trip Overall it was great Didn't catch much of size - 2 largest fish were 2 pound Lake Herring Lots of perch, and a few jumbos - almost all fish came on light jigs or light buckshot rattle spoons tipped with either a live minnow or minnow head Story...

2009 Ice Fishing Trip booked! Nippising, Idle Tyme Resort

We are heading up January 30 for 2 nights, 2 days fishing
I am pumped - last year was my first year ever ice fishing, and this will be the first trip to Nipissing

I have bought the preserved shiners the sell at LeBaron and Bass Pro before - sometimes try to get bait near Lake Simcoe is a challenge unless you are at the bait shop for 6:00AM
They worked well for us for perch - both whole and using just the head on spoons/jigs
