Re: Clayton Lake depth chart

Yeah, sorry. I should have mentioned that you need to look at the sonar view on Navionics. Glad you had a good day on the water and got some fish. Been there a couple of times, and for me it seems either they're biting on Clayton, or they're biting on Taylor. Never both :) Nice lake though with plen...

Re: Clayton Lake depth chart

Some of Clayton Lake is on Navionics (can use the free web app if you don't have a subscription). Taylor Lake (the lower half), is not. Take it slow and be on the lookout for stumps, and you'll be fine.

Re: Trolling motor battery question?

Another nod towards Total Battery. Bought my trolling and starter battery there a couple of years ago. I've also got one of the CTEK chargers, and like it. It's not the fastest charger as it goes through various cycles during charging. However, If I recall, one of those is repair where it makes the ...

TWO bottles of Jagermeister maybe? :)

Great report and a fun read. That last Walleye is mad. Can imagine the rush you got pulling that one in.

Thanks :) What became known as the "24/7 shot" was used on most of the fish we caught on our outing in July. No better way to add a couple of lbs ;) In all seriousness, I think it's a great way to take a picture of a fish. We're all here to see pictures of the fish so why not make it the c...

An afternoon on Mississippi Lake

Me and a mate decided to hit Mississippi Lake this weekend as we'd never fished it before. We originally aimed for Sat, but with the weather being up to it's usual mischief, we went out Sun instead. And what a great decision that was :) Got on the water around 2pm after renting a boat from McCreary'...

Fantastic report and lots of great pics of very nice fish. I don't understand much French so when I watched the video I assumed all the words I heard were an assortment of "big", "hog", "pig", "bucket" ..... all en Francais ;)

I wear my PFD all the time while boating or canoeing. I actually feel like I'm missing something when I don't wear it now, kind of like a seatbealt in the car. I'm an OK swimmer, but if you fall out of a boat, you can easily bump your head (a PFD will upright you even if you fall in face first) or l...

Barron Canyon, Algonquin Park (Labor Day weekend)

Hi all, I've been browsing this site on and off for a couple of years, and have really enjoyed reading the reports. Decided it was time to post my own. First, let me say that Barron Canyon is a very cool place to visit. Beautiful scenery, great canoeing and good swimming. But you're here to read abo...
