Another lunker walleye

We went out today for a few hours in the afternoon. The lake was very choppy and a hard south wind. Once we got the boat into the mouth of the river the waves where now down to the point of managebility. I went into the bay where I have been having luck all year. I stuck to my plan slow troll shoals...

The fredrickhouse river has great fishing. There is huge sturgeons in there also. I caught one 61" when I was kid. I know that is a long time ago lol but I hear they are still there.

There is alot of big fish in the lakes up north. I think it's like anywhere else. You have to work lakes hard and learn to move if you seem to be catching smaller fish. The fish here just take a little longer to grow so less common to see 10 pounders than let's say quinte. Also the lakes here are no...

Lunker Walleye

When out this afternoon for a few hours to see if I can keep my luck going. I have been working the same spot for the last week and so far we nailed some real dandy fish. But this one tops them all. http://www.fish-hawk.net/photogallery/albums/userpics/normal_IMG_3724.jpg All I am doing is fishing s...

hello

The only problem I had with my legend is all the nuts and bolts that hold the live well covers and storage covers and decking all came off from driving down rough roads. I guess they where thinking people only pull them on highways. I replaced all the bolts with stover nuts and stainless bolts never...

Overnight fishing with family

Last week I decided I would go fishing this weekend to my favourite spot. Everyone I asked to go with couldn't make it because of plans or work. I got home Friday from work and my wife decided that she and my son would come also. Which I didn't mind since I enjoy time with the family to. We pack up ...

hello

The trap like bowzog posted is what I use and works well. The only thing I do is ball up my bread really tight so it sinks to the bottom of the trap so the minnowns have to go in to get it. If you don't do that I find the bread floats and the minnows can eat it from the outside. The mnr reg's for mi...

hello

The spinners should still work really well. Do you think the walleye have moved to a different spot. I would try trolling the edge of the weed bed at high noon. Don't keep going to the same spot over and over all year. They tend to move as the season progress. But I am still catching them shallow 7'...

hello

I have two nets in my boat. One is rubberized I use it for most of my fish. But once in awhile when a monster comes in I use my old fashioned mesh one. It's not the best net but the big ones don't get away from it. One of these days I'll buy the ruberized coated mesh ones. I think they seem to be re...

Fishing with my boy

I took out my son for the first time just me and him to an overnight sleep at my favourite lake. I was the first one to wake up just to say it was daylight. Here is picture of him snuggle up in my van http://www.fish-hawk.net/photogallery/albums/userpics/normal_IMG_3319.jpg It was very cold for an A...

If find it hard to believe walleye surfacing like that. I would of believed a pike more than a wally. Although last year one time I was changing my sons lure and a pickeral jumped in the boat after my lure.
