I know one lake like that in the Renfrew area, no motors allowed. Really rough access, but on my last outing there. 50 LM in 2 hrs. A fish would throw the bait and another would grab it before it hit the water. most bass were 1 lb but there were a few 3 lb +. Congratulations on a fine outing.

Jiffy Lightning
I have a 2 HP Jiffy Lightning 9" and love it rips right thru the ice. It starts easily and as for hauling it around I always use my skidoo so that is not an issue with me. You won't make a mistake buying it.

Sharbot Lake
There are some good largemouth in the lake and some nice sized Pike. Walleye are scarce. Lake Trout fishing is good also when the season is open.I fished there for 20+ years now and still enjoy great fishing at times
