pink senkos

I bought some 3 inchers for my son - figured they would work great on perch and panfish. I rigged them on a 1/32nd wacky head and he SMOKED every fish in White Lake - perch, LM, SM, pike, rockbass....unreal. The only bad thing is that the o-rings don't fit the 3 inchers, so he went through them pret...

White Lake report

We just returned home from our annual White Lake vacation. Much better than last years disaster - motor died on day 1 and a tree limb falling through the new bed cover on my truck. Fishing started a little slow, but once the fish got adjusted to the record high temps, we had great fishing. Typical W...

Agree. Lots of pressure, especially on weekends. Also, more pleasure craft the last few years. Last year, we had water skiers buzz by within casting range while we were trying to fish.
In 6 days last year, we only had 1 bass over 4 lbs. Prior years, we had several over 5 lbs (all were released).

rental

There is one private rental that I know of - I think they may even have a sign on their dock or near the water. Can't remember the name, but if you search on line, you should find it. The cabin is on the left side of the main lake, between 3 mile bay and pickeral bay. I think my wife may still have ...

little cedar

I know of a Little Cedar Lake in Quebec, but I haven't fished there in years. At that time, there were no public launches. On Big Cedar (they are connected by a small creek), you can probably launch at Moosehead Lodge (I think that's the name) for a fee. That is the only actual lodge on the 2 lakes ...

Kipawa is a huge lake - did you have an area/lodge in mind? My dad has been fishing it for 20 years, usually the end of June or early July. They focus on 'eyes, but they pick up some big pike every year.
Also, the smallmouth fishing has picked up - 6 lbers every year.

saver

Wolfe - thanks for posting the pic. We stayed at Bayview. The water is only 2 -3 ft deep, where he caught it, but it has a lot of matted grass on the bottom. What's up with White Lake this year? Based on the posts, not much going on with bigger fish. Also, the winning weight from the tournament on t...

White Lake vacation saver

If you read my last post, we had a rough time at White Lake last week. Luckily, on Friday afternoon, all that changed. My son was depressed that vacation was ending, so he decided to make a few last casts for perch off the dock. He was using an UL rod, 4 lb test, size 10 hook and a small piece of cr...

Expensive vacation

We just returned from our annual week at White Lake. For the last 3 years, I was able to report at least 1 nickel - not this year. Everyone we talked with was having trouble finding big fish. In fact with several of us fishing, we managed only 2 bass over 3 lbs all week - until the last day (more on...

wacky tool & O rings

You can order the Wacky Tool and extra O rings from Cabelas - the tool is around $6 and an extra pack of rings is $1.50
I used them this year for the first time and it's worth the money. Before O rings, Senkos would hold up for 1 or 2 fish - now, I can catch 10 -15 fish on 1 Senko.

Top Water Walleye

I just returned from a week on White Lake and we had a few of firsts. It took 3 years, but I finally caught a walleye there - on a Frenzy Popper. I have heard of walleye hitting top water, but until this week, I never experienced it. It was just over 19", just missing the slot size. There were ...

I would love to figure out the eyes on this lake myself. I've seen other posts where guys have picked up a few trolling at the entrance to 3 mile bay. I also saw one caught last year by accident near a feeder stream (the guy was trolling for pike in 6ft of water). I'll be up there in 1 month, so if ...

white lake

The White Lake near Arnprior is loaded with 1 - 2 lb largemouth and a good supply of smallies. A 4 lb LM is a real nice fish for this lake. It also has a bunch of 16 - 20 inch pike. It does have walleye, but they are rare.

Thanks for all of the info. The White Lake I'm referring to is near Arnprior. Pickeral Bay only has a shower house. The Cedar Cove cabins look very nice, but they are not right on the lake. That is one advantage that Bayview has. Our cabin is 15' from our boat. I guess I'll have to wait until someon...
