Hi Doug, The slot runs until June 15th during the open season of course. Surprisingly that isn't an error. It's the max size with no minimum. Not a huge fan of the slot as I enjoy eating walleye but it's good for the river as lots of big fish are caught around opener and befor the season closes. WO...

Hi all, Just a friendly reminder to those that fish in zone 12 that the slot (max 40cm 15.7 inches) for walleye is in effect until March 31. Tight lines!! Is the slot size not in effect during the entire open season? And your number LOOKS wrong. In FMZ 18 the slot size is between 15.7 and 19.7 for ...

Doug, Completely agree about the Special Purpose Account, it was meant to supplement MNR funding for fishing and hunting, not replace it. However, it was the Harris government that started slashing MNR funding in the 90s. It hasn't gotten much better since then, but its a pretty far stretch to blam...

Time to resurrect this thread and get folks thinking again........... ............and the impetus is tonight the clocks go FORWARD. "Spring forward, fall back".......... So it is about 1990 I think, and we are in Owen Sound for spring salmon and trout. We have a good day on Saturday, get i...

Whereabouts is home water for you? Around Kingston (as I have been saying a lot lately) our lakes are under too much snow to travel, without a snowmobile........... I am waiting to hear back from a buddy who was going to hit Eagle Lake today. I bailed on the trip because of the distance they were go...

Welcome to more "COST-SAVING" measures from the MNRF. Just don't look for more VALUE for your INCREASED rates for everything. You should also not expect that the Special Purpose Account, which was supposed to SUPPLEMENT government spending on fish and game related activities, will in fact ...

<<<<AHEM>>>>> I have not had a HARD season in a while......... But yes the hard WATER season has been fairly spotty, lately due to deep snow. I think it was RJ who said a week or so ago, two days of rain would make me happy. Right now unless we get some kind of weather that knocks back the s...

Fairly stiff fine, as fines go for fishing offences, and two years ban is fairly stiff also. Add in the public humiliation...........and the guy has taken ownership of his actions and shown remorse. I think it is a VERY just sentence. Of course some folks would like to see him boiled in oil, but you...
