Yep
THey were caught at the same time. I caught the one and his friend followed him around trying to strike the lure at least a couple times before hooking himself. Really strange. Oh, and it is a jointed Rapala, which crosses over to another thread.

A few photos!
I figure while we wait for summer and our favourite species to open I would post a few pics from last year. Some walleye photo's and a double bass catch I managed (yes, I know how silly I look!) Certainly a first for me! Come on softwater! http://www.fish-hawk.net/photogallery/displayimage.php?pos=-...

Dominican
I am heading off to Punta Cana (Juan Dolio to be precise) this Sunday for a week of fun in the sun. As per usual, fishing is the first thing on my mind (well, close tie between bikinis and unlimited beer :)) Just wondering if anyone has fished the waters down there with a conventional fresh water ri...

Good call, I will go both times, but only to 'collect data'.
Anthony, I'll send you a pm sometime and show you the hotspots around my cottage. Some serious smallies and walleye spots I know of.

walleye/pike opener
Walleye/Pike Opener Now, I know I’m early here, but the warmer weather has got me thinking of pike/walleye opener on the Ottawa river. So, my question is, how have you faired in years past on walleye/pike opener? I have a cottage situated on Allumette Island. Last year was rainy and cold and the f...

Great looking fish!
WHile I don't base my fishing on the moon, it never helps to have that mental edge!

Warm weather?
Morning Hawks! Anyone think the slightly warmer weather pattern moving in this weekend will help the bite? I have found things on the really cold days to be slow. Also, anyone having luck down at long island locks? Looking to get out tomorrow and not freeze my buns off! Have a great Friday and a saf...

minnows
I would give a minnow a try - live or dead. Tip a small spoon or pimple with a minnow and jig slowly. However, this depends on the type of trout you are going for and the depth.
Be careful and have fun.

Sunday experience
Got out for 2 hours on Sunday (out front of the docks at Petrie). Caught three perch, one was a pretty good size the others about 7'. Good to be out for the first time, however, my eyes are certainly not used to the glare off the snow just yet!

Green Lake?
anyone ever heard of Green Lake near Almonte? I fished this lake years ago with a friends father and had some good results. However, this was years ago and the location has since ejedcted itself from my usually excellent memory.
Good luck this winter to all, we shall have ice soon!!!

warm weather crappies?
Good day FH`ers, Any thoughts on whether crappies/perch would be active given the warm weather? Where do people fish the little guys? Anywhere within an hour from Ottawa. Like most of you, I am going through fishing withdrawal without ice and need something, anything, to pass the time! I can’t wai...
