I agree with the bunch that say put the max rated motor on the boat. I am thinking you will be underwelmed by a 25 on that boat.

Its way too soon to even think about abandoning your motor. Any good outboard mechanic should be able to tell you with an hour's labour or less whats wrong with your motor given what you are describing. What you are describing could be as simple as a dirty carb. You should get it looked into before ...

I used the public access ramp to put in with a 4-wheel drive suv pulling a 14' aluminum last weekend and had no trouble. There were a few holes and pieces of loose mat and stuff on the downslope where other folks had obviously done battle tho. The gravel on the downslope IS a bit sandy and loose and...

Depends on the lake and oftimes you can throw the whole tackle box at them and still go home fishless :-) I agree with the long leader suggestion from almontefisher and I might go as far as suggesting to not use swivels or anything else on the end of the line except the lure if you are going to go b...

After some digging and phoning the twp and some more digging I found a page listed as "Boat Launches - Tay Region": see http://www.lanarkcountytourism.ca/PageFactory.aspx?PageID=892 which gives details on how to get to public access launching for Otty Lake, Little Silver Lake, Christie Lak...

I would like to take my daughter fishing at Otty Lake but am unable to find any info on where to launch a small boat there (preferrably on South shore.) Anyone been there who could/would provide access info?
