Hi 1lastcast

Try Wards Marina on Bath Rd, they usually have a couple of used kickers in stock, plus they are great to deal with.

Thanks Russ

Hi 1lastcast Yes I think you will foul your plugs if you troll much, a kicker is a good solution. I have a 9.9 fs with my 115 ficht. The 8 hp should work great for walleye speeds but you might have trouble if you want to troll faster than 2-3 mph(Muskie). I was surprised that my 9.9 only pushes the ...

Hi 1lastcast I had my rig out for a spin to-day back here on Dog lake, everything works ,I can't believe it! Trolling plates still cause drag even when they are up you lose 2mph and you have to drill your Opti. I would use a driftsock untill you can get a kicker.A 9.9 Merc bigfoot c/w power tilt ele...

"NO REALLY" a fishing story.

The following story is true, the names have not been changed as there are no innocents. It was a mild September afternoon, myself and three collegues are at a business meeting/fishing trip at a cottage. The meeting part is over and being the only hardcore fisherman in the group I am down on the dock...

Hi Dana I used a pd55 12 v for years in "the slop" and it gets the job done.I now have a pd70 24v and it turns pretty quick and chews the weeds up great. I am thinking a 101 would be just fine in weeds plus you have all the other advantages in open water. When I am doing family fishing days...

Hi Muskie Wannabe When you hook up the boat trailer it should all line up fairly level or horizontal. You don't want the back of the trailer tipped down to much. One thing to watch for when using the ball on bumper set up is NO TIGHT TURNS or your tongue will bind on your bumper. This can cause a fa...

Hi Oldman I joined Muskies Canada 2 years ago and it was the best move I have made in a while. You will meet a lot of like minded people, and get a lot of help on your quest. You will also learn the latest info on taking proper care of these beasts. Also when you are spending your hard earned money on...

Just go to any Johnson/Evinrude dealer they will have them very cheap make sure you tighten the plugs good and tight with a large screwdriver. Run the motor a few days then check the oil again, if it has gotten milky again I would take it to a mech. I gotta think it would be a lot cheaper than mine....

Hi Mikail The threaded plugs that you drain and fill gear lube through have gaskets on them I would replace them first and make sure the water is not getting in there before you go to a mechanic.I just had my lower end done on a 115 hp and it cost 350.00 I would think a 9.9 would be much less hopefu...

Hi Addy My ficht is easy to change plugs(access) but you have to face the electrode in a certain direction to work properly this is called indexing. It only takes me 30 minutes to gap and change the plugs but it costs 70 bucks. It upsets me but then but when I am out on the river flying by larger 4s m...

Hi 1lastcast Just some thoughts on you new kicker, (maybe)you will probably need one to fit a 20" transom, also you might want electric start and power trim and maybe remote steering and shifting. Also be carefull when you position the small motor it does not hit the big one when trimmed up and...

I agree that this is a very complicated matter, I currently run a D.I. 2stroke with a 4stroke kicker and it does the job quite well, but if I suddenly found myself in the market for a new rig I have no idea which way I would go. Probably the best way would be to work backwards , pick your dealer fir...
