Thanks for the reply BB, You were right to assume that the boat has a floor, a single console and isn't anywhere near over powered. My father in law bought the boat and it's rated for a 50hp max so he thought up grading to the 40 would be sufficient. The weight distribution in the boat isn't ideal e...

Setting up Motor on new boat
I have a new 16' legend boat with a 40hp 4 stroke motor. When we picked it up the motor was set up on the middle set of holes (in it's relation to the height of the transom). The boat did not seem to plane out properly in this position and we were pushing a lot of water. A friend of mine who has don...

I don't have any suggestion on which lake to choose, i would imagine around thunder bay most lakes would have a good population of smallies. As for fishing techniques, clousers would be good, leeches, crawfish imitations and surface poppers. the usual small mouth stuff. that time of year the fish mi...

BC is beautiful. I think it is everyone's duty to see it at least once. We flew to vancouver and drove the 8 hours to the resort so we could see as much of the province as possible. Next time i think we'll fly to williams lake, and drive the 45 minutes to the resort. As beautiful as the drive was/is...

Day 3- The Quesnel River Down stream of Likely BC. We had a new guide for day 3, Skeed from Northern Lights Lodge on Quesnel lake was going to do his best to get us into some decent rainbows in some beautiful waters. There were only a couple fish caught this day so all of the shots are just scenery....

Thanks Everyone for the kind words. Charlene was using a 6wt rod the whole trip and I took a 4wt and a 6wt. I only used the 6 wt for the last day because we were chasing bull trout in FAST water (report to follow). It was a blast to be casting big dry flies at those trout all day and we got to see s...

Hi Guys, I am not sure how i should break up this report to do it justice. My Wife and i spent our honeymoon on a flyfishing (mostly) getaway in BC at Tyee Lake Resort, north of Williams Lake. I was told by some of the people there that it is one of the most rugged areas of BC to visit but the resor...

PB Walleye
Hi Folks, I caught my personal best walleye last night while fishing for smallies. We have been having trouble catching bass in shallow waters with all the dead/dying carp around (Chemong, Buckhorn and Pigeon are getting hit BAD right now). We headed for some deeper, rockier waters and towards the e...
