Re: Fishing in Quebec

To me this is an example of a regulation where the province is asserting its authority on law abiding fisherman. They do not have a clue how to stop the 1 or 2 percent who do all the damage. Only people breaking the laws could be subjected to this "authority" you speak of. Law abiding fis...

Re: Fish Ingesting Soft Plastics

I have a habit of researching (excessively some would say) before making a decision of any sort these days. I personally don't need a study to tell me that bite sized chunks of plastic in our waterways is a bad thing. Seems to me that floating litter would just affect different species (birds) than ...

Re: Sticky Skirts - How To Stop It?

I have been told Canasten Creme works well for this. Apply a liberal amount to the affected area and you should see a reduction in stickyness within a few days.

Re: Amazon Prices

I too have noticed this phenomena on Amazon.ca. You search for a particular item and 20-25 results are within $5 or one another and 2 or 3 are 500% higher.

I'd love to hear an explanation

Re: Curado I HG Missing part out of the box

The reel was taken back to SAIL and sent out to Shimano even though it was out of warranty. It came back with the mart that was missing and as a bonus was also fully service and had a bearing replaced (I'm guessing the one located next to the missing part).

No charge to me.

Curado I HG Missing part out of the box

I love my Shimano Curados and this post is not intended to bash the Curado or Shimano. It's simply meant to help others diagnose issues they may also be having. If you are noticing that tightening the spool tension knob dramatically increases resistance when reeling on your Curado I HG, your reel ma...

Re: Bassmaster Classic meet Canadian Charles Sim!

I guess the accomplishment of qualifying for an event like that can quickly be overshadowed by the pressure of the event itself. Glad to hear he spent some time trying to just take it all in and be in the moment. Nobody in their right mind could be let down by this guy. I for one have never followed...

Re: Miracle Weight Loss for Flashers/Fishfinders

Very true about the charger-luckily the Marcum charger port doesn't match up to the charging port on the battery so no danger there. Not sure about other sonar brands.

Re: Miracle Weight Loss for Flashers/Fishfinders

The wiring from the unit to the battery isn't tampered with so still the fuse remains between the battery and unit.
I'll have the unit out all day tomorrow and will report back on how the battery lasts.

These batteries have gone for as low as $25 America on eBay

Miracle Weight Loss for Flashers/Fishfinders

With all of the added features that comes with a unit like my Marcum LX7 comes added weight. The unit feels cumbersome and for someone who hole hops a lot can become a drag over the course of a day. The following is how I addressed that issue by upgrading from the standard SLA battery to a Lipo &quo...

Re: Cecil the Lion - How things change

I for one am not the least bit confused. My point was concise, based on facts and singular in nature: the high $ value put on an animals and animal body parts does more harm than good.

The links I provided might be of value to those interested, I resign from this one.

Re: Cecil the Lion - How things change

Bl8ant, those elephants would be long gone if it wasnt for preserves and habitat protection...funded by hunters dollars. the money coming in for animal welfare and charity is next to nothing. Because these animals have a value, they are now exisiting. Poaching still goes on, but it's not tolerated ...
