Seaweed is right, it's going to be really shallow around there but if you can find a couple of the holes in the Carp river that are more than a foot deep, drop a worm in after 7pm and you will get some cats. Like Seaweed says, avoid the beach. All you will get is out of season bass. They use the san...

Sorry to hear of that. Especially with a new boat. Dampens the fun factor for sure.
Front wheel drive, even at good launches, can be a frustration.

Yes Steve, I was really impressed with the set up he has. Major investment in equipment. I think my prop is even better than new due to the way he balances them. I'd swear there is less vibration at lower RPMs. I just checked with Eli (our city councillor) and it was his office that sent in the back...

Some Good News on the Buckhams Bay Launch

I was there yesterday and the rip-rap rock pile at the end of the ramp is gone. I don't know yet if it was the city or a local resident that scooped it out but THANK YOU to whomever is responsible for that. I was able to launch and load with no problems even with the low water. Also, our city counci...

A floating dock is great news!
Now we need them to scoop out the rocks and we are back in business.

I'm going to pick up my repaired prop and lower unit tonight (they were wrecked at the launch last week).

Absolutely! We all could launch at the fire lane just past TMH's place.

Bummer, one less ski that could have grown bigger. That is average size for that part of the Ottawa IMHO.

Joco, We do a lot of kayaking too - Constance Creek is awesome for kayak fishing and wildlife scenery. I haven't been back to the launch since Tuesday but I would estimate the rocks were 6 to 8" below surface at that time as seen in the video. The rocks come up from the flat part of the ramp by...

steadyj_17, Most times I'm launching by myself and the Maclaren's launch has no dock, the current is strong and the small rock point 10 meters down stream is intimidating. But I guess I will be going there more often now :) The Buckhams launch is actually a lot closer to me by boat and closer to the...

Thanks for the feedback and support. I know it's futile to ask for compensation but I will be happy as long as they fix the ramp and wharf. I haven't had any response from our MP at all but hopefully they can get a floating dock in there before someone gets hurt trying to climb the wharf to get out ...

RJ, it's only now that the water levels are dropping that the newly deposited stone pile is being exposed thus my warnings. It comes up from the end of the ramp by at least a foot. When I was back there again today it looked even worse. People won't be able to back in enough to get their boats off t...
