Might be heading there in the morning. Reports are 3 to 7 inches of good ice in gilford area. I will have all safety equipment handy you can count on that.

Look at this site for simcoe conditions. http://www.lakesimcoemessageboard.com/index.php At the top of the page there are speacialty forums one is called Ice report and real time weather. Conditions are updated everyday and are very accurate to specific areas of the lake.

I had a similar experience the first 2 times out(tangles, bobber raps and snags) . But got the hang of it and find it a great relaxing trip to my local hole. Dont be fraustrated try it a couple more times you will get i nice Bow in return. Great read.

Im in for at least 5 trips to Simcoe this year. :D If im going on the trip all you need is warm clothes and a bite to eat. i can lend you anything you may need as im sure alot of the others that are going can. Really you just need to show up and find the group they will take care of the rest. MMM
