Rickr, Aluminum boats as you mentioned have a much higher re-sale value and a quick glance at the "black book" will further confirm your hunch. Princecraft boats for example experiences the highest re-sale value of any (freshwater fishing) boat and has done so for a number of years. A few ...

I didn't see the show (American for sure) but the manufacturer that you speak of is Kistler. Trey Kistler used to work for All-Star rods (in the good days when they used Loomis blanks) and has since started his own company in Texas. I can't comment on the specific model but the rod undoubtedly is pa...

Spider thread (red-wing tackle) is still the best method to tie your roe bags. Experiment with the tension and the number of wraps. I have also tried the soldering gun method but felt that the hard plastic "weld" would be unnatural feeling to a weary steelhead.

Good luck,

In addition to what Ed said, prices in Canada have never been more competitive particularly with the strength of our dollar. Furthermore on a few of the American message boards that I participate on it is generally agreed that the cheapest place to buy G.Loomis rods in the world is in Canada. For ex...

Hey Chris, Ignore the comments from the peanut gallery. I always get a chuckle from the brave souls who hide behind their computers. It is unfortunate when people choose to attack others regardless of the situation. You were a welcomed member of the Renegade Fraternity and will forever be so. Cheers...

Re. 3D

Fishing Loon, Before you invest in technology that you are hoping is going to solve some of your described dilemmas you may want to reconsider. The premise of 3 dimensional imaging using any form of sonar (both audible and ultrasonic frequencies) has been the principal aspiration for the entire imag...

Mr J, From the description and criteria that you listed clearly you are seeking a rod that will minimize your grief and translate efficiently your efforts into success. Personally the first (all purpose) rod in a Muskie anglers arsenal should be reasonably long (7') and stout enough to effectively h...

James, You've always made me laugh but..... "Pas de Poulet Puddephatt" is one of the funniest things that I've read in a long time. For what it's worth I was glad that you were at the show because I was also commiserating at Lansdowne and was unable to get my fill. I was fearful that the p...

Guys, I am sorry that you had an unfortunate experience with Lowrance. From the tone of your posts it seems that you were surprised that the experience was far from perfect suggesting that you historically have had good service from Lowrance/Eagle. Lowrance/Eagle has always strived hard to support o...

This question, a good one, often gets similar responses from what I have seen in the past. Invariably the replies often cite horsepower, torque and even final drive ratios, all of which are critical. However and with no disrespect to my fellow FH frat brothers and sisters, my experience has identifi...

Hi Jale, I have had the good fortune of experimenting with most of the currently available units during actual on the water situations and feel that colour units are a significant advantage and worth the extra dollars. If one of the Eagle colour units is within in your budget I strongly suggets that...
