Pull back the husk... but not off. Take off all the hair... then put the husks back on and give them a tie with some twine. Then soak the cobs in water for a few hours. Then put them almost right in the fire... just so they don't catch fire. Corn gets steamed... just husk them once they've dried out...

I've had good luck with the weedless Rapala minnow (largest size) and put a nice twister tail grub on the hook... there's also weedless dardelves.

4m is less than 14 feet. So if the boat is 14 feet you do not need the card if you don't fall in the other categories. But the card thing isn't going away, so its a good idea to get it.

A good fish handling glove with help alot. I have the rapala fillet glove and this helps to handle the fish securely and therefore alot less than with slippery slimy hands.
