Re: Fly fishing problem

Hmmm The line has to match the combo you bought. IMO anything from a 5-7 wt floating line would be a good place to start. There are endless options and techniques to explore. You can fish for almost anything in most parts of the water column. The deeper you fish the tougher that becomes. To explore ...

Re: Coordless drill/auger info

I have a milwaukee 18v cordless hammer drill I used last season paired up with 6" fin bore 3 auger. It cuts like butter. I brought 4 -3amp hr batteries with me on the ice just in case and I managed to only drain one completely after 42 holes in nearly 20" of ice. I was happy. Fortunately I...

fake or photo

"First of all no one can cheat at bounty fishing as they look for it. It's really hard to photo shop a picture and leave no evidence, you just need to blow it up real large to see it. That is also why they want full size pictures to make sure it's easy to see alterations." Photoshopping is...

The humber R in Toronto near High Park gets a small run of salmon. Its accessable near the Old Mill. There used to be a nice run below the stone bridge. I can't say for certain what it's like now for I haven't fished it in 5 years. Be prepared though, its urban fishing!

Adam H,

I've had limited success nymphing for them using a Black Murry's Helgrammite pattern in the spring. Best of luck.

carp on the fly

Hi Joco, I've caught carp in the area over the past few years. They will take a wide variety of flies like nymphs, wooly buggers (especially olive), little baitfish and crayfish patterns. The actual pattern isn't that important. IMO you need to stalk them and avoid being seen. If you walk right up t...

Finn-Bore?

Hi everyone,

I need a new auger. Where can I buy a Finn-Bore in the Ottawa area? I was a Constance as well in the afternoon. Caught a few perch an hooked what felt like a pike but lost it at the hole :)

Cheers
