Re: 31 Mile Lake Boat Launch

The closest boat launch on 31 Mile lake:

You go on 105 pass Gracefield. Pass Shell gas station.
Turn right on Chemin de point Comfort.
Turn left on Chemin de la Baie Matte.
End of this unpaved road is boat launch to 31 Mile lake.
Washroom is there.
See attached file.
Good luck.

Yes, I checked this with a ministry.
With Ontario licence you can fish Quebec side and vice versa.

Ask if Jocko's beach has a boat launch.

Calabogie is an excellent lake.

Good luck.

Re: Black Donald Lake advice

This year wacky worm rig works wonders on most of the lakes. Chose green/ white combination, or ask locals what works on this particular lake. Every lake is different. Smallmouth bass and largemouth as well now sitting between 1.5 to 2.5 m deep. Add one splitshot 2 ft above wacky worm rig. DO NOT SP...

Re: No bite at Calabogie lake

Hi guys, I am back here.

Yesterday went to Calabogie again. It was much better.
I caught 4 basses and 2 pikes.
Pike were small I left them in a lake to grow.

Didn't use livebait :P this time - only sticky plastic worms.

Re: what kind of Bass is this?

Hi, all

This is smallmouth.
Easy to distinguish.
Largemouth bass has a mouth that reaches behind his eyes.
This one has shorter mouth...

Re: Ottawa and Nearby Fishing Shore fishing

Hi, Here I attach a picture of the fishing spot I fish usually when I don't have time to go far away. Cast from the shore into deep water near current. Use technique that called plunking (main line ->one sliding weight-> then swivel-> then leader->then hook with worm or whatever). You can also try t...

Good morning,

Thanks for comforting me. It was disappointing. Five hours under blazing sun - ZERO bites.

I wish you to have many more successful memorable outings !

Re: NEEDS HELP!!!!

And another spot...
You can park you car nearby.
Go down to the water on a big rocks.
Use the same technique what I described in first letter.
Here you can easily snag but fish is there...

I wish you a good luck !

Re: NEEDS HELP!!!!

Welcome to Ottawa, I attached a map with a fishing spot where you can catch a bunch of fish. Two years in a row I caught there walleyes at dusk (end of May). I caught there big sucker and catfish are always there. Use technique that called plunking, or dropshot. You can cast from shore if you don't ...

Re: A Bit of Laker Fishing

You can cure lake trout. Cut it into 1cm thick steaks. Put salt, lemon juice and dried dill (optional). Then put in a fridge (not freezer) for 24 hours - its ready to eat.
How much to put salt - cannot tell you - its all intuition. Better to put a bit more than less.
It is delicious...
