I'm gonna try to be out there again before the season is out. Maybe, I'll slap on the riggers. Where do you guys launch from? I usually launch for the pig farm, there's good weeds and some fish right there. eye-tracker - are you using a Navionics Chip? Hope to see some of you guys...I'm in a red an...

Re: big jon repairs
The bolt has two different levels of thread and is only catching the first group and not the second group of threads. I tried taking out washers but still didn't work. Hopefully the part is available and inexpensive. Thanks for the idea though.jammer13 wrote:Couldn't you just add a extra washer??

Hi Markus, I was using a long pad lock (unlocked) to hold it at a specific depth but in rough water like last weekend when you need to reel in fast it's pretty cumbersome and potentially dangerous. I found a number in the 705 area code that will hopefully have the parts. Let me know if you need a pa...

Parts for Big Jon down riggers
Anyone ever have to get replacement parts for their Big Jon's? Mine is a manual rigger but will no longer tighten enough to reel up or hold a depth. I believe the special pin/bolt is stripped. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I've never tried red pepper jelly but sounds HOT! I'll give 'er a try. If it's too hot, I can always cool it off with the aforementioned beer  Unfortunately, Joanne won't be coming as she has pneumonia and the cheese and cracker thing is usually her department, so I'll probably just bring beer...

I usually have beer and ...... uh beer  Although I may have to have cheese and crackers to replace beers in between as I will have to drive to the opposite side of the bay to return to the trailer afterwards. Greymist, I'll try and get a hold of Vince and Sherry and see if they'd like t...

I'm thinking of upgrading to the GMRS radios now 8) They range from 8km to 15km. I'll probably pick up the 15km ones....
