Do you E-bay veterans have any trouble getting stuff that comes across the border? Any duties or fees to watch out for?

The Weather Network says....

High of + 1 degree, winds light from the north (5 km/h)

Hope more people can make it out, not too many ice-days left.

Nipissing question

OK - so my girlfriedns parents are going ice fishing on Nipissing with some friends this coming weekend. I know they are using an outfitter and heated cabin but other than that I dont know the details. Now - just to clarify, the Father's fishing ability amounts to a minnow and bobber. I dont think h...

The fishing is good on Baptiste.

Musky, large and smallmouth, some BIG walleye, and apparently lake trout.

Some of the channels are deeper than you think, some of the flats are shallower.

Lots of structure to choose from.

COuldnt agree with you more.

A hot hazy day in August I did the same thing on a small lake near Bon Echo park.

You could see the fish hiding in the shade - and could pick them up with a twitch bait plunked in frotn of their noses.

Good times.

joco - have you dropped the river level this week above the dam?

It seems to have been going down, while with the warmer weather it should have risen.

Thanks.

I caught my brothers eyelid with a Mepp's spinner when I was really young - didnt get his eye though. Scary stuff. I also caught a carp at #1 dam on the Trent, at about the same time that another guy (on top of the dam 75 yrds away) caught the same one. Took probably 30 minutes before we figured ut ...

The most obvious is skate the canal - right on up to the ice sculptures on Dow's lake (maybe 30 minutes skate). The ice is great this year because its been so cold. Who knows what it'll be in 2 / 3 weeks but its clean and fast now. I would second the Museum of Civilization and Byward market for sure...

Why can't you chum them like people do in the summer, with dogfood (stinky meat) and fish them through the ice? There isnt any reason why you couldnt, and it would be a good way to keep warm during the ice season, if the action is as hot in the winter as it is in the summer. Any catfishers out there...

Head's up on the Ottawa ice

With the warm temp / rain the Ottawa is on the rise again for the next three days keep an closer eye on the ice than usual. It takes a little while for the water to come down from upstream, but even considering that, the level has jumped. As the current pick up, the ice gets thinner, and I'd likely ...
