I'm looking into getting the Lowrance Elite 4x... Do you know if I'd need to buy a special transducer for the ice or would I be able to use it straight out of the box with the provided transducer?Choke wrote:I have a lowrance elite 3x all season. It doesn't have the flasher mode but reg sonar works for me. It also works on my kayak in the boat and on the ice. If I could have found an elite 4x or 5x ice machine I would have got one of those. They have both modes flasher and sonar. But I'm happy with what I have. For around $300 I have a unit I can use all year long. The better the unit the more you'll pay. lowrance 3x 4x and 5x.

Reboot: You should get the ice transducer for it. I don't have one in stock but I do have the 4X in stock and they are on sale.

If it's the 4x you're after its the All Season Portable Pack you want to find. It comes with all you'll need. That's what I bought last year at ctc. Not sure if they still make that package though.

I have the Lowrance x67c ice machine and both styles of transducers. I use it winter and summer. I think this is what they replaced with the 4x - i'd go for that one!
