Just what the title says....anything and everything related to Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, Plastics, what others are using, what works, what doesn't work, and anything else you want to talk about regarding equipment.
Remember when I posted that Shimano won me over again? Well I did something about it last night.
The gear ratio is a little high at 8.5:1 for the JB special so it will be sitting atop my DX743.
But this doesn’t look too bad either. I actually kind of like the look!
If all goes well, the Curado I may find it’s way into the line-up as well and I will be only running Shimano this year.
Beautiful setups Mav! I've always pondered about picking up a Diawa I'm finding myself looking at the Tatula's more and more, theres still sometime before opener.
Adam I have the same two reels coming in hopefully by next week, I went with the MET101HG for JB's and the CH151CI4HG
Looks really nice!
I have been tempted quite a few times by those Mets and actually I have been super intrigued by the Exsence DC. But because of another member here I have no choice but to add another Daiwa before I venture out.
This is all very nice. But will it put Bass in the livewell.
The SS SV is one fine reel. Very difficult to compare to anything else.
It is very well made. Light and smooth but yet it feels very strong.
I'm not really a Daiwa Fan and I try to stay away from very pricey reels.
I would make an exception for the Daiwa SS SV.

I enjoy fishing this type of equipment so it can't hurt. I am not saying it makes me a better angler but it certainly won 't hurt my odds...
I've been throwing the Metaniums a lot in the back yard and I can assure anyone they wouldn't be disappointed. Those Daiwa's are pretty sweet as well. Where did you buy them if you don't mind me asking. Jon
