What's biting?
What's biting?
I got 46 or less days left to fish
All the required "work" is done to satisfy the "nesting" requirement.
ANyone heading out this weekend? For what?

Re: What's biting?
Two days left for me in the Lund I think, daytime highs on long term forecast are negative all next week so it may be time to tuck her away.
What's biting?
St. Lawrence Muskie, Walleye and Smallies...
Rideau River Muskies and Walleye...
Quinte Walleyes (yawn )
Steelhead in the tribs....
Local lake Crappies...
Lots of options, too many really!

Man do I ever need to go fishing with you.
I was going to answer: "My two year old".

I think RJ summed it up pretty well. Pick a species and location and get out there.

Thanks RJ
I'll be honest with you all I am not a very experienced fall fisherman at all.
I'll be on shore as my boat is winterized now.
I haven't fished much this summer at all sadly (nor any real riding either!)
With a child in ICU at CHEO (asthma), work, building a nursery etc it has not given much if any freetime.
Very much looking forward to the shack being out at Petrie soon! Apparently we have a 2nd at Shirleys this season.

Re: What's biting?
This will be a tough cold weekend but I'm heading out to fish for small mouth. At this late in November, I always do really well providing I can put up with the weather.
I was out 2 weeks ago and got rained on all day but still managed to land 12+ smallies. (most in the 2lb range with a few 3+ fish)

This is very true. However, I am "on call" now so cell reception is a MUST (or so the boss says).EagleEyesFlash wrote:Don't forget its an excellent time of year for splake, rainbows and specks if you can

If I was told I could only fish 2 months a year it would probably be mid Sept to mid November.Jimmy_1 wrote:Thanks RJ

Re: What's biting?
Be heading out on the Rideau for the mighty muskie this weekend assuming there isn't to much ice in my way. They've been pretty hot these past two weeks managed to land a few decent fish with the biggest being this past Sunday.
Generally I'd be all packed and ready for ice fishing by now but this years really shown fall fishing can produce if you put the time in and hit the right spots with the right lures. Oh and for the record I'm a shore fishermen so it's more than possible if you're willing to try.

Money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you fishing gear and that's kinda the same thing.
Re: What's biting?
Real nice Musky off shore. Congrats. That looks like a familiar and popular spot hehe.
Jimmy if you have a choice I'd take Shirleys over Petrie any day when it comes to eating your catch. If you're c&r then go for the hotter spot.
Cheers

Re: What's biting?
I didn't find your rod tip... did find a line and lure though. ... ohhh... and a fish too.
Spring steel, lakers, gar and craps versus fall muskie, bass, eyes and steel... close but fall wins.
Draggin' tubes, slow trollin' cranks, jiggin' grubs and driftin' below a float, as long as your long sticks ain't packed away until you can walk on water, some of the best fishing of the year is still upon us.

Re: What's biting?
Avid I missed one close to that spot that was 45 inches plus, they are pretty enormous in that area. I also notice alot of people fishing it the wrong way usually lol... too fast and too high. I mean experiment for a bit but most people won't even let there lure go a foot below the water! PS there is another spot very close to that one upriver that holds some brutes usually as well.
Re: What's biting?
Thanks lads.
I have a few spots in mind to try.
Sadly most have become very shallow so I'll drag minnows by some locks.
