Winterizing

Hey guys, first winter with a boat...just wondering at what temperature should i be worried on overnights??? Any tips are welcome. Thanks.

If you are still fishing, just make sure you put the motor vertical to let the water run out of the prop. I typically leave it like that while I tie everything else up and put away my gear. I usually put the transom saver on last.

When out on the lake, give the motor a few minutes to warm up.

My boat doesn't go away until mid November usually before the Salt starts hitting the road too often.

I'd take a quick check of the lower unit oil. If it's milky there's water in it and it should be changed. If there's a real cold night the water might freeze and could crack the casing. I broke one years ago. I don't know how cold it has to get, but better safe than sorry.
