DEKA: available @ LeBaron (providing you're not 'Boycotting' them!! )

JW....I noticed that the AGM battery at Le Baron only has a reserve capacity of 48min compared to the 225min of the Deka Marine Master, but the weight of the battery changes drastically from 24lbs to 61lbs.. What are you using that battery for and how long will it stay charged...jwhite wrote:Yes.....Deka Seamate Sealed AGM batteries. They are spillproof, leakproof and 100% maintenance free.Cyber wrote:DEKA: available @ LeBaron (providing you're not 'Boycotting' them!! )
Example: How many hrs/days will it power a 36 - 40lb electric trolling motor?? Any experiences?
best deep cycle I have ever seen was a German made battery that was specially imported for a corporation in Saskatchewan... these things were HEAVY ... but man oh man they lasted a long time.. Wish I remember the make... I know that Motorhome people swear by Trojan Batteries... My father uses 4 6V batteries in his motorhome.

Going into my 6th year with my Big Red trolling battery (Trojan) from Total Battery. Weighs a ton but that's what you want in a battery-more lead. http://www.trojanbattery.com/Products/Marine.aspx
Don't think they make the Big Red anymore but they do have a replacement. A bit pricey at over $200 now. Thing is, I've never run it down. Totally reliable and never a complaint with it.

Check out the optima bluetop batteries... 20 pounds lighter, charges twice as fast and lasts twice as long compared to a normal deep cycle battery. Sounds almost too good to be true

But for the price, ill stick to my canadian tire batteries
