Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great holiday season!

Just thought I'd open a post for Mississippi Lake ice fishing 2024.

If anybody has any information about the ice conditions on Mississippi Lake.(ice safety, thickness etc...)
You can post it here for others to see.

Also don't hesitate to let us know if you had a good day out there ice fishing?

We all know that the weather has been on the warmer side as of late, but let's cross our fingers and hope that will change for all of us ice anglers!

Cheers.
S

I was out on Friday. Went on at Father Pt. There was a good 5 inches of blue ice. Lots of people out as well

Caught a few small perch. The lad 30 yards from me pulled out a nice keeper walleye.

I made this post "sticky" similar to the Shirley's Bay ice fishing thread, so we can share info easier.

Tight lines and be safe. :D

I was out on Mississippi today. Also accessed at the Father Point boat launch. About 8 inches of solid clear ice. Very slushy at the launch, but once you get past that the walking isn't too bad.

Caught a lot of small perch, a 12" walleye, and lost a ~20" eye at the hole...

Spent all day yesterday on Mississippi to cap off the Zone 18 ice season for walleye. Accessed at Father Point again and tried a number of spots where I've had success in the past. Getting around was easy with ice cleats and I walked over 5km total on the lake. Fishing was slow, I caught a handful of perch and a single 14" walleye shortly after sunset.

I'm thinking I may have had more success if I accessed at Grasshopper Point and fished closer to the river. With these bizarre temps I'm wondering if the walleye are starting to stage there for the spawn.

Good luck to anyone getting out there before the season ends! There was still 12+ inches of ice where I had fished.
