Muskie outing continued

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Nice to see

Post by JP »

It was nice to see a couple of Hawk Talkers out onsunday on the rideau. Even managed to meet 2 guys from New York state and told them about the event, they seemed pumped to come down for it. Only 2 more weeks till the outing. Can't wait

First I was going then I wasn't. My wife goes in for in for an op on Friday and she assures me she will be in no fit state to accept visitors until sat evening so I think I might try and make it down for the am - won't be staying for the food. The chance of the seminar is swinging the balance here - with many fruitless hours on the Rideau I am in need of some tutoring.

Have boat bringing Clan-Man

I have not “hooked” up with anyone particular for this Muskie outing, as with coming from this distance I would not want to hold anyone up at the launch, in case I’m late… I hope that everyone has not yet partnered up, and some will have room, as required for us boatless, deprived folks.

My plans so far are to leave Friday night, sometime after work, and drive through the Toronto traffic, getting to Kemptville, late, possibly stay at the Coach House, just east of Kemptville, or maybe sleep in the truck.

In the morning stop at Timmies in Kemptville and drive to the launch for 6am. At the launch, I hope to jump into any boat, needing a netter. (At least I think I’m better than Bacon)

After the day, and the meal, I will be returning home for Sunday, in time for a 6am practice for my youngest...and Halloween...I'll look like a Zombie by then...A Muskie Zombie. 8)

Thanks FF and Jim W for the offers,,,still plan to play it by ear.

I have no problem staying in the truck, had to do it last year at the Pinecrest trip...Rideau LungeHunter, was too much for me, sawing Logs... :?

(ps FF, I have no little one coming, that would be Salmon, and Johnathon)

I'm in for sure! Boat and partner. After my first muskie season, with nothing to show for it yet ( except for many long hours on the water ) maybe I can turn it around that day.
Looking forward to meeting everyone there!
