Muskie outing continued

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Post by JimW »

If anyone needs a place to stay, I have room for a couple people. I also have parking space for 1 boat.

I am also looking to partner up in someone's boat, I have my own muskie gear.

Drop me a pm if you need a place to stay.

Change of restaurant

Post by JP »

Unfortunately the Swan is booked for a wedding party that afternoon and night so that's a no go, but have put a call into the Riverbend Pub(located right at the entrace to Taylor park. They have great Chinese and canadian food and may be able to have the restaurant only for us. they have a great buffet and right at Taylor park. I'll let u guys know and let me know if that's ok.

Riverbend pub

Post by JP »

The Swan restaurant was booked for a wedding on the 30th. Just booked a place right at Taylor park called the Riverbend Pub. It's a great place that serves Chinese and canadian food. They have room for up to 40 and are giving us a private buffet for $10(no tax) per person(reg price is $10.50 + tax). They have a vast menue of stuff like burgers, fish and chips and so on. Unfortunately, drinks are taxed.
The best thing is u won't need to leave the park to get some good eats 8) . Just park your boat at the launch and walk the 30yards to the place.
Hope this is ok.

musky get together

Post by Jigs »

This sounds like it could be fun........cold, but fun.

I will be there with my    boat   .

There is a chair in the front for the "anchor person", right next to the bailing CANS.

The oars are conveniently located where the "first mate", thats you, can use them. The captain (thats me) will no doubt be busy with vice grips and screwdriver working on the motor.

Someone is gonna have to give me directions, I'm a stranger there.

If this is going to be pot luck let me know what I should kick in.

Regards: Jigs.

Cool map of the area

Post by Seaweed »

Here is a link to a map where the Taylor Park Conservation Area is one of many spots identified on the Rideau River. The map contains lots of other spots too though. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first found it. For someone who isn`t that familiar with the area this is a jackpot.

http://www.rideauvalley.on.ca/about/ima ... _large.pdf

Hopefully that will help a bunch of people find the place. Oh yeah you need Adobe Reader installed to view the link.
