Muskie outing continued

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sorry for such a stupid question but can you, and more importantly, would you want to, eat a Muskie? Maybe they taste just like chicken!

For general interest:

To maintain healthy muskellunge populations, the sport fish contaminant monitoring program encourages catch and release of this species as generally this species cannot sustain heavy fishing pressure. Please note that if you do wish to keep a legal-sized muskellunge for consumption, it will likely have elevated mercury levels, and should not be consumed by women of childbearing age and children under 15. Trophy-sized muskellunge usually have very high mercury levels and should not be consumed by anyone.

Hmmm.....this sounds like fun. I may have to take a weekend off from Quinte......but only if someone can guarantee me a Musky  As I mostly troll, I don't have the arm strength for 10,000 casts so if someone wants to hand me the rod at 9,995 or so I'll be there.

I'm totally in, as long as someone has room for me on their boat!!

I don't think I'll land many Muskie with waders on...

I'm a backup in nighttroller's boat, but if someone has room, please let me know!!!

More food for everyone... (sorry)

Bacon, I was looking forward to seeing your new ride...next time.

I am going to make this trip come heck or high water, since I'm going to miss the Quinte trip.

Still looks like lots of Hawk-Talkers, and lots of new people to meet so it will still be fun. :P

Post by JP »

Just to let everyone know we may have a conflict with Taylor park, but I am still working on it. Kars RA launch is the alternate if Taylor park doesn't work out, but still optimistic.
