Quinte Ice Conditions

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Quinte Ice Conditions

Post by Spezza_Fan »

Hey guys,
Looking for ice condition reports for Quinte. What's the quality out there. Either in around Desaronto or Huff.

Thanks,
Derek

Just checked the Quinte Fishing board and it looks like it is not quite ready yet.

Yeah that's what I was reading too. :(

We would be walking out but knowing how dangerous Quinte can be, I don't think I'm going to venture out this weekend.

I've heard different. Quinte board isn't real open about any local intel, never has been.

Guys are fishing all over the Bay but on sketchy ice in spots. Take a Spud, go with someone who knows or wait.

We'll be jamming some jigs this weekend for some famous BOQ walleye. Sketchy just means less people...

Big time, always causes a S#@tstorm this time of year on that board. Dont get me wrong never take quinte lightly but there are a couple guys on the board that amp up the drama to keep people away.

I find that year in and year out that folks that warn about ice conditions are often the guys to get the first posts up of some nice early season fish.

doesn't bother me, I don't venture near the ice until it is plenty stable. a few hours of relaxing on the ice isn't worth what could happen if the ice isn't ready.
