Cabelas or bps store?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Cabelas or bps store?

Post by tbone1088 »

Anyone have an update on if and when one of these stores is set to arrive, and also if they will be having any job fairs?

Yep, Cabelas is coming for sure. Construction starts in the spring from what I've heard.

My understanding is that pro bass is buying out Cabela's that's why they backed out of the Ottawa project and Cabela's is going in Kanata and the building is under construction as we speak so cabela's or pro bass i'll take either love those stores. So if your looking for my paycheques they will be invested in Kanata. Bring on the competition.

Dollarama sells bobbers, small tackle boxes, lures and hooks now.

no need for BPS or Cabelas.

If it is anything like the Cabelas in Barrie it will be very underwhelming. Plus Paddletales>Cabelas!!!!!

from what I'm reading online, the American stores do and the winnipeg one sells "seasonal bait". Doesn't show that for the Barrie store. Not sure about ours. I guess let it go up and then everyone ask about it until they decided to put it in. I put a note on the cabelas facebook page asking for info on this.

This.....

As a fisherman, I was very disappointed in the Barrie Cabelas and if the Ottawa store is anything like it there will be only one visit and it will be a short visit. That said, if I was also interested in hunting it was probably a pretty decent store.

If when you go you are disappointed, make sure to tell someone there. Give them feedback. Sometimes it's the best way for a store to better suit it's audience.

Well, it certainly can't be any more "underwhelming" than either
Sail or LeBaron, and the bonus is it's in the West end. :D
No more having to drive into Ottawa, HOORAY!!! :P :P :P

I have been to the Cabela's stores in Edmonton and Calgary,,,, and if the Ottawa store is anything like those stores i am sure you wont be disappointed as far a selling minnows they didn't,,,,,, as they have bait bans in place.
