Been lurking for awhile, thought it's time to post. Been a kayak fisher for a year, moved on to a deep-v 16' this year.
Out on the Rideau today again, trying out my brand new St. Croix bass rod and Abu Garcia reel. Spent the first hour making birds nests with this new slick braid, until I got the tension dialed in right. Did a couple more relaxed casts with a spinner, and saw this brute follow right in and take the spinner about 5' from the boat! Almost broke the new rod, almost broke the alarmingly undersized net to bring it a MUSKIE!!! Estimate 44", maybe 20 pounds.
It's not a great photo, but i couldn't figure out how to hold it up without losing a finger to the teeth and taking a photo all by myself. I'm just happy I boarded it and got it back in the water safely!!! Fish is fine! Fisher still has all the fingers!!!
